Essential Wet Weather Products

The winter months can often be the most challenging for farmers and those working in the agricultural sector, especially when adverse weather conditions can turn a field into a flood overnight.

That’s where Flowtech comes in, offering a huge line of wet weather products that specifically deal with clearing flooded areas or simply to allow the continued functionality of farm machinery in particularly wet or hazardous conditions.

Our line of wet weather engineering products have many applications and would suit farmers requiring engineering support, suppliers of farming machinery who support local businesses or even livestock equipment distributors who may have a vested interest in supplying wet weather solutions to customers.

How do Flowtech products help in wet weather?

Whether it’s our selection of water suction and discharge hoses, to help clear an affected area of water, or irrigation hoses that help deliver a controlled amount of water to a dry area, we have products to help control water flow and keep operations moving.

Our hoses require certain fittings and foot valves that are designed to work under pressure, especially when moving large amounts of water from an affected area, as well as a number of other accessories such as Hose Clamps, Hose Guards or Sleeves, Hose Reels for storage and Filters and Strainers to stops hoses from clogging.

These associated products ensure that hoses and related systems function efficiently and remain durable in the harsh conditions of wet winter months. They also provide safety, maintenance, and protection for critical agricultural operations such as dedicated irrigation systems.

Layflat Hoses

Layflat Hoses are commonly used in irrigation systems to transport water over large areas.

In wet conditions, they allow quick setup and breakdown without being bogged down by mud or moisture. They are lightweight, flexible hoses that can easily be rolled up and stored when not in use.

We have a wide range of Layflat Hoses in various specifications, all of which can assist with moving or displacing water from a hazardous area, and are also easy to store given their flat design.

Cam and Groove Couplings

Our Camlock Fittings are often used for connecting and disconnecting hoses in irrigation, fuel transfer, or chemical systems.

These Cam and Groove Couplings help reduce downtime by allowing fast reconfiguration of hoses for different tasks, such as switching between water suction and discharge hoses.

Complete Lever Lock Set

Our Lever Lock Sets are designed to join many lengths of hose together securely and safely, to ensure that any water transfer operations can be completed without leaks or other incidents occurring.

This range of couplings come complete with a standard rubber sealing ring and are made of galvanised steel.

Medium Duty Suction Hoses

Suction hoses are used for transferring water from ponds, lakes, or reservoirs to fields. They are durable and flexible, designed to handle muddy, wet conditions and typically come with abrasion-resistant exteriors.

Whereas suction hoses pull water from a source into a pump, discharge hoses distribute it to a different area, so are often used for irrigation or for draining excess water.

Hose Clamps

Hose Clamps are used to secure hoses to fittings and prevent leaks. Heavy-duty stainless steel or galvanised clamps resist corrosion and are ideal for agricultural use, especially in wet weather conditions.

Our range of Hose Clamps and Crimp Fittings provide a secure, tight connection between hoses and fittings, ensuring they stay attached during high-pressure applications.

Submersible Pumps

Whilst Submersible Pumps are designed to be submerged and clear a smaller volume of water, they’re still vital for assisting in flooding situations, alongside hoses, couplings, clamps and valves that will perform the heavy lifting.

Take a look at our range of 230V pumps, which have a built in Float Switch and a maximum working temperature of +35°C.

Foot Valves

Our selection of Foot Valves are used with water suction hoses to prevent the backflow of water, ensuring efficient pumping even in muddy conditions.

In wet winter conditions, when fields are prone to flooding, foot valves are critical in maintaining the proper function of water pumps used for drainage and irrigation.
