Our solutions-based approach, supported by seven engineering centres and multiple fulfilment centres, along with experienced technical experts, has quickly established us as trusted advisors to our customers. At our Flowtech Durham site, we provide comprehensive engineering solutions, covering the design, fabrication, and installation of flexible piping systems, leak detection systems, fuelling systems, transfer pumps and valves.

We offer an extensive product range of proven data centre solutions in flow control, fluid conveyance and pipe systems enabling our data centre clients to maintain high uptime, avoid outages and keep disruptions to a minimum.

BRUGG Pipe Systems

Flowtech is the sole supplier of BRUGG flexible pipework for industrial applications across the UK. BRUGG stainless steel piping solutions are used in backup generator fuel supply and liquid cooling systems. Both the FSR and Secon-X types of pipe can be permanently monitored for leakage while remaining in operation.

Flexwell Safety Pipe – Fuel Supply

A flexible, continuous, double-walled stainless steel pipe system with a monitoring option for industrial application and tank facilities. The flexwell safety pipe (FSR) is a solution for applications such as emergency power, supply lines and transporting hazardous liquids and gases.

Secon-X – Liquid Cooling

Secon-X is a proven pipe solution in the data centre industry in providing a reliable and efficient cooling solution. Due to the flexibility of the pipe and fast and easy installation without welding, installation time and downtime can also be reduced.

Advantages of BRUGG Pipework Systems:

  • The pipework has a minimum design life of 30 years
  • Tried, tested and proven in many major projects worldwide
  • High corrosion resistance
  • Pipe is inherently fire resistant due to its high melting point
  • Can be delivered in lengths of up to 1km*

    *dependent on bore size

SGB Leak Detection Technology

SGB leak detectors provide permanent and dependable monitoring for leaks in double walled tanks and pipelines, for example in diesel powered emergency generators. Flowtech have over 20 years experience in supply and installing SGB leak detection systems.

Benefits of leak detection:

  • Early detection and prevention
  • Safeguarding valuable assets such as servers, computers and IT equipment
  • Enhanced efficiencies and maintaining optimal operational conditions

Pipeline Vacuum Leak Detectors – VLR 410 E

  • Vacuum leak detector for double walled pipes
  • Plastic or stainless steel housing materials
  • Extended electronic functions
  • Additional sensors and solenoid valves can be connected

Tank Vacuum Leak Detectors – VL 34 & VL 330

  • For double walled tanks
  • Plastic or stainless steel housing materials
  • Additional options available such as level indication and digital manometer

Pipeline Pressure Leak Detectors – DLR-G

  • For double walled pipes
  • Plastic or stainless steel housing materials
  • Additional options available such as pressure sensors and digital manometer

Valves

Ball Valves

We understand the importance of system reliability and minimising downtime with uptime optimisation, therefore we provide a range of isolation valves that are SIL 3 compliance according to IEC 61508.

For backup power generators, Flowtech can offer a range of API 607 fire safe valves for fuel management and storage tanks in data centres.

Pressure and leak tested according to EN1266-1 and API 598 standards, our range of ball valves offer zero leakage performance for system reliability.

Butterfly Valves

Butterfly valves are a critical component of the cooling system and are the ideal solution for isolation. As a trusted advisor, Flowtech can ensure you select the correct construction material for the medium application. We understand that installing the incorrect material has an impact on the performance and longevity of the isolation valves, therefore we supply according to the application to minimize the risk of pipework corrosion e.g. chilled water, clean water or sea water as well as HVO and fuel oils.

Check Valves

Check valves are a critical part in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of data centres. By preventing backflow in the system, this prevents damage to sensitive equipment.

In addition to preventing backflow, check valves also maintain constant water pressure in the system, which assists cooling systems in prevention of overheating

Process Automation

Our range of electric actuated valves offers precise modulating functionality or on/off control for flow control. In the event of power loss, a battery backup can be retrofitted to act as an emergency shut off valve in either fail open or fail close.

Additional state-of-the-art Modbus technology options on the J+J electric actuator to enable and enhance plant efficiencies.

We can also offer a range of pneumatic actuated valves to regulate and control the flow of water, air, gases and other fluids. For instance, in data centres this could be chilled water or coolant in systems, filtration, purification and distribution.

Additional configuration options such as electro-pneumatic positioners can be used to provide precise control, flow and automation of the valve.

Pressure Independent Control Valves

With technology still advancing and data size being transferred increasing, an efficient and reliable fluid control system is essential to achieve the optimum server room temperature.

Pressure independent control valves (PICVs) allow for precise control of flow rates whilst maintaining a constant differential pressure. By adding an actuator to the control valve, this optimises the delta T, enhancing system performance and results in being more energy efficient.

The benefit of installing PICVs is with future expansions to system upgrades, PICVs allow for easier integration of equipment into existing systems without the need to revisit the commissioning of existing items.
